  1. Rarely agree, but do find your misguided opinions amusing, if not academically challenging. I will continue to purchase your volumes because,I feel that those opinions are grounded in deep rooted feelings and a wonderful love of cinema.

  2. “Misguided”?!? I do not think that word means what you think it means. Perceptive. Insightful. Remarkably good looking despite the bald head. Was that what you meant?

I’m glad to see you’re enjoying the books, and that I’m not the only one with a sense of humor…

  3. A friend just alerted me to your “Who Won” series, which I shall get hold of. He mentions specifically Korngold getting the music Oscar for “Robin Hood,” with “Pacific Liner” (score by Robert Russell Bennett, my research interest) a strong contender in your mind. I’ve known of this film for decades, but have missed it in case it has been aired (TCM, whatever) or released on home video in some format. Not that I’ve looked exhaustively, but may I ask how you were able to view it? (No special hurry on this, though I’m curious now!). Thanks sincerely for any help you can offer

    • I hope you like the books! According to my notes, I watched it at UCLA in their film archive. You can contact them and request access. You might also request that TCM play it.
